The Fine Arts Theatre combines the old style charm of yesterday’s movie house with today’s technology. We have Dolby Digital EX Surround Sound and climate-controlled auditoriums. We also offer a wide variety of snacks at our concession stand.
Since taking over the Fine Arts Theatre in November 2002, Deco Entertainment Services, Inc. has renovated the interior of the auditoriums and updated the projection systems. We continue to update different aspects of the theatre. We’d love to hear what you think of the continuing changes.

Nation’s Largest Environmental...

Films to Change Your World!

Nation’s Largest Environmental Film Festival returns to Maynard

Maynard, Mass. Join OARS as it hosts the 4th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour at the Fine Arts Theatre in Maynard on Wednesday, March 7 at 7pm.

This year’s inspiring and award-winning films will take audiences to some of the most remote and beautiful places on the planet, and introduce them to the courageous people who are working to protect and preserve their communities’ environment. “It is amazing how these films, from all over the world, connect directly with what we are doing in our own watershed,” says Alison Field-Juma, OARS’ Executive Director. “When you see the places in these films and hear people speaking from their hearts, you just know that you are part of something much bigger and tremendously important. “

OARS’ event will feature films from the 2012 Annual Festival including: “Chasing Water,” in which photographer Pete McBride takes an intimate look at the Colorado River watershed as he attempts to follow the irrigation water that sustains his family’s Colorado ranch down to the sea. Travel the river’s path with stunning aerial views of a personal journey to understand this national treasure. “Meet the Beetle” follows the trials and tribulations of the Salt Creek Tiger Beetle. Injected with surprising musical sequences, this documentary explores the importance of one almost-extinct beetle and its place in the world. “Whether it is the lyrical “Seasons” or the clever solution of “A Liter of Light,” these films are wonderful antidotes for whatever ails you,” adds Field-Juma.

OARS is a nonprofit whose mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance the natural and recreational features of the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord River watershed. Established in 1986 by a group of concerned citizens, OARS has nearly 1,000 members and engages in a wide-variety of community-based activities and initiatives.
